My Shop-Vac finally died after about 12 years of use.

I wanted a replacement vacuum with a stainless steel can. I don’t think a Craftsman vacuum is available with that option. A Ridgid model is available, but isn’t stocked at my local Home Depot. When I last checked at Lowe’s, all the Shop-Vac models had plastic cans. I was at a C-A-L Ranch store a few weeks ago and noticed they had one left. I went there to buy it and found it had already been sold. All of their new stock came with plastic cans. On the way home, I decided to stop at Lowe’s and settle for a Shop-Vac with a plastic can. I was delighted to find a new line of Shop-Vacs and that two of the choices were available with stainless steel cans.

I chose a model 586-62-21 that was reasonably priced at only $99.

The vacuum is made in the USA of USA and global components.

The exhaust port is sized to fit the hose so that the vacuum can be used as a blower. There are also hooks to wrap the cord around for storage.

There is a drain on the bottom of the can so that liquids can be drained without lifting.

I like the 1 1/4″ hose. I’ve used numerous brands and models of vacuums and don’t feel that any move enough air to take advantage of a larger hose. This vacuum is very quiet and has plenty of suction. The only thing that I don’t like about the vacuum is that there is no place to store the attachments. Overall, I am happy with this purchase.
